Nickelmenu won't come back

Hi,

I had nickel and Koreader set up perfectly, but made the mistake of exiting Koreader when I had a Bluetooth connection going.

This caused my nickelmenu button to vanish.

Linked it to my PC, all the files were still there. Tried to drag koboroots.tgz back into .Kobo. ejected. Kobo started doing the whole update thing but the button was still missing. Rebooted, still missing.

I've tried uninstalling but it doesn't seem to want to uninstall.

Even tried a factory reset.

Really stuck and gutted, any help would be so appreciated. Thanks.

I think the username was just the suggested one when I signed up? I don't understand the issue?

I've been seeing a lot of spam from usernames like your original one recently. Sorry about any confusion.

Was the username suggested by GitHub itself? I wasn't under the impression that it had an option to generate usernames.

Hi, no problem! Yeah, it just auto filled it. I've changed it now though just to be safe. Thanks for pointing it out.

Same problem here. Upgraded to 4.44 system on Libra Color. Initial installation is fine.
Coming back from Koreader (exit) or rebooting the system. Nickel menu is gone.
Only reinstallation is fixing first time. Installation script runs, but startup hook not?!

Hmm, I guess I could modify the failsafe to not trigger if a menu item is pressed.

Yea same issue as here and idk if it was patched? I installed koreader and nickel, but hitting quit from koreader seems to trigger the failsafe so I have to reboot to get back if I wanna read my library books(whenever I get around to checking more of those out again). Kinda odd tbh
