Filtering by relationship entries sometimes removes the selected item

Describe the Bug

When filtering by relationship entries, the filtering itself appears to work correctly:

• The filter parameters in the URL look correct.
• The displayed results seem to match the selected filter.

However, after selecting an item from the referenced collection, the currently selected item is often removed unexpectedly. The behavior appears random and is not consistently reproducible.
