I’ve been looking for a self-hosted password manager for a long time. I used Enpass for years, then switched to Vaultwarden, but Vaultwarden hasn’t quite met my needs so far. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by AliasVault so far.
1) Tags
The ability to assign tags to individual passwords and filter by those tags
2) More flexible fields
I’d like to be able to customise standard fields such as ‘Username’ and, for example, hide the text entered there. It would also be good to have more options for arranging the fields without a distinction between standard and custom fields. Enpass, for example, has this feature: you can arrange all the fields freely and customise or reorder any field (including standard fields)
3) Direct password generator & aliases
A button on the home page that allows you to generate passwords directly without having to create a new entry first; the same applies to temporary emails.
4) Icons
Import icons via URL and upload your own icons to use for individual entries
5) Checks (More of a nice-to-have than a must)
Automatic check based on URLs to see if these sites support 2FA
A password check to see if a password is too weak
Checks on the age of a password, e.g. older than 1–3 years, 3+ years, etc.
