Research global alignment of sector classifications

Investigate whether there is a unified or mappable system of industry codes that can be applied across jurisdictions, including Russia (EGRUL), the UK, and the US.

Tasks:

• Identify classification systems used in the UK, US, and internationally (e.g. SIC, NAICS, ISIC).
• Assess whether these systems can be aligned or mapped to each other.
• Determine if EGRUL data can be connected to these systems.
• Outline options for a shared classification model.

When working on FtM, I realized we have a field for the Romanian classification system CAEM. Not sure if we're using it.
