Bug Description
Hi, I’m reporting a regression with Packet after a recent system update.
The app was working normally before, but now it consistently crashes when starting a file transfer (Quick Share session). It launches fine, but exits immediately when transfer begins. In addition, the “Run in Background” and “Start on Boot” toggles do not persist—they revert off after being enabled.
Reinstalling the Flatpak did not fix the issue.
System information:
OS: Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS (COSMIC desktop)
Desktop: COSMIC 1.0.0 (Wayland / cosmic-comp)
Kernel: Linux 6.18.7-76061807-generic
Hardware:
Laptop: HP Victus 15 (15.6" Gaming Laptop)
CPU: Intel Core i5-12450H
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2050 (dGPU) + Intel UHD Graphics (hybrid)
Phone used for transfer : Nothing Phone (3a)
Behavior:
App launches normally
Crashes immediately when initiating file transfer / Quick Share session
Does not remain running during transfer attempt
Background/autostart toggles do not stay enabled
This started after a recent Pop!_OS system update. Before that, the same setup worked reliably.
