Compatibility with newer versions of React

The library is not compatible with React 17:

Hi, Just wanted to let you know how i got around this.

I simply cloned the repo into my project not the best way to do this but... it works? so, i dont see any new updates coming down from the creators, hopefully theyll update this repository soon.
