Problem
Integrating kafka-retryable-consumer in Spring Boot apps currently requires manual bean wiring and configuration, which leads to boilerplate, duplicated setups, and slower onboarding.
Suggestion
Provide an optional Spring Boot starter (e.g. kafka-retryable-consumer-spring-boot-starter) that offers:
• Auto-configuration of RetryableConsumer, Kafka consumers/producers, and DLQ handling
• Configuration via application.yml with sensible defaults
Optional Spring Actuator integration (readiness/liveness, basic metrics)
Additional Context
Benefits
• Zero/low boilerplate for Spring Boot users
• Faster adoption and consistent configurations
• Better alignment with Spring ecosystem
Compatibility
• Fully optional
• No breaking changes for existing users
