SSSC Science Roadmap

The SSSC has produced a science roadmap detailing the collaboration's science priorities with LSST; this living document is available here

SSSC Software Roadmap

The SSSC has identified crucial software products and tools that will be required for LSST Solar System science but will not be provided by the LSST project. These will have to be developed by the SSSC and the broader planetary community. Our software roadmap , published in the Research Notes of the American Astronomical Society, presents this list of LSST community software development tasks.

Feedback on the SCOC (Survey Cadence Optimization Committee) Draft Phase 3 Report (2024)

The SSSC provided feedback on the SCOC's draft Phase 3 report before the report was finalized.

Rubin Target of Opportunity (TOO) Proposal (2024)

The SSSC submission to the Rubin TOO Cadence Report can be found here .

Tuning the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) Observing Strategy for Solar System Science (2023)

A collection of SSSC members have written a paper in the ApJS Rubin cadence focus issue summarizing the impacts of various potential LSST cadence decisions on Solar System science.

Rubin Observatory LSST Cadence Note (2021)

The SSSC response to the LSST Cadence Notes Solicitation can be found here . In November 2021, the SSSC drafted a short response to the draft SCOC (Survey Cadence Optimization Committee) report. In May 2022, the SSSC sent written feedback to the SCOC after a review of the v2.0 candence simulations.

LSST Cadence Optimization White Papers (2018)

Solar System related white papers submitted in response to the 2018 LSST Cadence Optimization White Paper Call with SSSC involvement can be found here .

Community Observing Strategy Evaluation Paper (COSEP; 2017)

The SSSC has contributed to the LSST Community Observing Strategy Evaluation Paper (COSEP) currently titled 'Science-Driven Optimization of the LSST Observing Strategy' detailing the collaboration's metrics for evaluating proposed LSST survey cadences; this living document is available here (see also the github repo).

Rubin Observatory Commissioning Notes (2020)

The SSSC submitted a series of commissioning notes in response to a call from the Rubin Observatory Commissioning Team.
