Feature request: non-potable water sources

Is it possible to add non-potable sources that intersect more remote routes (I.e. lakes, rivers, streams, reservoirs, etc)? Maybe with a different color icon (yellow/orange/red or something).

Sure, everything is possible ;)
If you don't know, you can already specify a larger search distance range using the -d/--distance option.
What's missing is the non potable POI.
For my own curiosity, what would be used for ? I guess, not drinking ? :)

Water filter. I filter everything, even “potable”, just in case pipes are old or whatever. And I don’t expect potable water on remote routes.

Generally it’s not a big deal as it’s pretty easy to spot lakes, rivers, etc, if you zoom in. But it would be nice when you zoom out to plan distance between sources, and spot potential camp locations. Thanks again!

Ok I see, that make sense. I will add a non-potable option in a future version of the tool. Thanks for the suggestions :)

Hi, if you have the time, can you take a look at PR #6?
It includes the option to specify non-potable water sources (and adds an additional drinkable water source amenity).
Would be incredibly userful for longer hikes where potable water sources are scarce. Non-potable water can be filtered.
