# QLF_MassSpectrum — the absolute spectrum is one scale, exponentially generated
QLF derives the mass *ratios* with no free parameters — `m_p/m_e = 6π⁵` (`QLF_LenzMassRatio`,
0.002%), Koide `Q = 2/3 ⇒ m_τ` (`QLF_Koide`, 0.006%), `m_π±/m_e = 2/α` (`QLF_PionMassRatio`),
the lepton depth ratios (`Per_Qubit_Mass_Quantum.md`). What is *not* derived is the **absolute
scale**: the proton's Markov-blanket depth `R_p ≈ 1.30×10¹⁹` (equivalently `R_e ≈ 2.39×10²²`,
`m_e`). This module takes the problem head-on with two honest moves.
## 1. The whole spectrum is one parameter
Because every ratio is a machine-verified dimensionless number, **every mass is the single proton
scale `m_p` times a verified ratio** (`spectrum_one_scale`): the electron via `1/6π⁵`
(`electron_mass_from_proton_eq`), the charged pion via `3π⁵/137` (`proton_pion_ratio_eq`), the
heavier leptons via Koide / depth ratios. So the Standard Model's ~13 independent mass parameters
collapse to **one** absolute input plus the verified ratios. The absolute-spectrum problem is
therefore exactly: *derive one number* — `R_p` (or `m_p`).
## 2. That one number is exponentially generated: dimensional transmutation
Why is `R_p ≈ 10¹⁹` so huge (the hierarchy)? Not fine-tuning — **dimensional transmutation**.
The strong coupling runs *logarithmically* (`QLF_RunningCouplings`, asymptotic freedom: `b > 0`),
so starting from a moderate substrate-scale coupling `α`, it reaches strong coupling
(confinement — the proton scale) only after a depth **exponential in `1/α`**:
`R ~ exp(2π/(b·α))` (`transmuted_hierarchy`). The log of the hierarchy is then *linear* in `1/α`
(`log_transmuted_hierarchy`):
`ln R = 2π/(b·α)`.
With the QCD one-loop coefficient `b = 7` and a moderate `α_s ≈ 0.02` (i.e. `1/α_s ≈ 49`),
`ln R ≈ 2π/(7·0.02) ≈ 44.9`, matching the measured `ln(M_Planck/m_p) ≈ 44.0`. A moderate input,
exponentially amplified — the hierarchy with no fine-tuning. Weaker coupling gives a larger
hierarchy (`weaker_coupling_larger_hierarchy`): the asymptotic-freedom amplification.
## Honest scope
This **reduces the entire mass spectrum to one absolute scale** (Lean-anchored via the verified
ratios) and shows that scale is **exponentially generated** by the logarithmic running QLF
anchors in `QLF_RunningCouplings` — so the hierarchy is natural, not tuned. It does **not** derive
the scale's value: that needs the β-coefficient `b` (open, `QLF_RunningCouplings`), the
substrate-scale coupling `α_s`, and the Planck→SI calibration — equivalently, the combinatorial
`R_e ≈ 2.39×10²²` closure-multiplicity count, which remains the open frontier
(`mass_spectrum_in_progress`, `Per_Qubit_Mass_Quantum.md` §3.3).
