It's a privacy breach for people who use those public projects. It can be seen by those with DB access, but the amount of people with DB access is relatively few. This enables some bad actors to read the text, images, videos, and documents of every single person who uses their projects with no setup required. Without API deets, developers would have to consciously setup a database and store all the data themselves. With API deets, they get stored and are available automatically, regardless of whether the developer actually intended it that way.
