We are students from Northern Burlington County Regional High School from New Jersey. Abhinav is currently a junior while Arav is a sophomore. We both love math, coding, and engineering. We are passionate about creating useful tools that can be used to benefit the real world.
About Your App
Our app is designed to help users track their environmental impact while increasing awareness of climate change. It features a carbon footprint estimation tool that calculates users’ emissions based on their daily activities. The app also includes an interactive chatbot that provides personalized sustainability advice and answers questions about climate impact. In addition, it offers educational insights to help users better understand emissions, climate change, and practical ways to reduce their environmental footprint.
We were inspired to create this app after observing the effects of pollution in our daily lives. From smog in the air to the growing presence of landfills, we saw firsthand how pollution is impacting our environment. This motivated us to develop a solution that not only raises awareness but also encourages users to take meaningful action toward a more sustainable future. During development, we explored features from apps we found effective and engaging. For example, we were inspired by the “quests” feature in a language-learning app, which makes learning interactive and goal-oriented. We incorporated a similar system to encourage users to build sustainable habits. We also studied user interface designs from popular apps to create a familiar and intuitive experience, while still adding our own unique elements. Ultimately, our app combines environmental awareness with engaging design to create a tool that is both informative and practical for everyday use.
Our goal is for this app to make sustainability more accessible and actionable for everyday users. By combining education, personalized feedback, and interactive features, we aim to help individuals better understand their environmental impact and take small but meaningful steps toward reducing it. In the future, we hope to expand the app with more advanced tracking features and community-based challenges to further encourage collective action.
