Description

@felizvida

Genome Forge v0.1.6 is out:
https://github.com/felizvida/genomeforge/releases/tag/v0.1.6

This release expands the tutorial into a 39-lesson textbook-style self-study track built around real biological records, stronger biological explanations, clearer sample-data handling, and a broader screenshot atlas.

If you try it, feedback on any of these would be especially helpful:

  1. First-run experience
  • Was it easy to find the right dataset bundle and open the matching lesson?
  • Did the tutorial front matter make it clear how to study the material?
  1. Biological clarity
  • If you come from software or computational work, did the biology explanations feel approachable?
  • Where did the tutorial still assume too much background?
  1. Screenshot usefulness
  • Did the real UI screenshots help you recognize the expected result panels?
  • Which workflows still need a better visual walkthrough?
  1. Real-world usefulness
  • Which cases felt genuinely meaningful for cloning, validation, analysis, or teaching?
  • Which important lab workflows still feel underrepresented?
  1. Rough edges
  • confusing wording
  • missing sample-data context
  • blurry/overdense layouts
  • any mismatch between the tutorial and the current UI

If you leave feedback, please mention:

  • your background (bench biology, bioinformatics, software, training, etc.)
  • which cases you tried
  • whether you used the HTML or PDF version

Thank you. This release is specifically trying to make Genome Forge easier to learn without already being fluent in molecular biology.
