HelpWire is a cross-platform tool for remote support, suitable for solo providers, tech support teams, and internal support in small-to-medium businesses. HelpWire allows sessions to be started quickly and with minimal effort on the part of the remote user. It also offers instant communication with clients over the built-in chat, and a range of features that make it applicable in most support situations.
HelpWire allows a support specialist to:
- Sync their clipboard with the remote computer
- Transfer files by dragging and dropping
- Switch between the remote computer’s monitors
- Work from their preferred operating system
HelpWire clients are available for free on Windows (7 or later), macOS (11.0 Big Sur or later), and Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 and up, Debian 11 and up, CentOS Stream 9, Red Hat Enterprise 9, and Fedora 39+).
HelpWire also offers many additional features for registered users. Registration is the preferable method of use for teams, or specialists that deal with recurrent sessions. An account will record session and chat history, allow a user to quickly restart sessions with a previous client, enable the option for unattended access, and provide team management tools.
HelpWire Quick Connect is a version of HelpWire that is intended for immediate support. It can be used without logging in, but doesn’t include account-based features.
- Download HelpWire Quick Connect on the support specialist’s computer.
- Launch the downloaded app and send the provided link to the support recipient.
- The client should then open the link in their browser.
- They should launch the downloaded file, and grant access to the specialist.
After this, the session is established, and the support technician can begin resolving any of the client’s issues.
