I saw a lot of mention of AWS S3 in the README. Is it possible to just use a simpler store that will just put the images on a local path instead?

Definitely possible! The issue I ran into was that I had too many images to serve as assets, so the site took forever to load unless I stored the images somewhere else and progressively loaded them in. If you're averse to using S3, there are actually a ton of free options (i think you could probably even use google drive with the correct sharing settings, but I haven't tried that). Yea! So, one thing I recently encountered was this project: https://github.com/alangrainger/immich-public-proxy

Combining the front-end you have here with that Immich backend would be huge. There are a ton of people using Immich, so having the option to have this vscode-like frontend to present certain albums as galleries would be really valuable.

Do you mind if I fork that Immich proxy and copy some of the front-end code you have here to make what they have prettier?
