[padding] [Macintosh] Investigate "-A aov" behavior on Indy3 Mac

I've been told that the -A aov padding option causes issues with indy3mac.

This needs to be investigated. Do we need to make it a noop on this game variant? Fix the character? Or is there a bug somewhere else?
