Splice's search has some more features that would benefit this frontend quite a bit:
Update categories on query
The lists of available instruments, genres & tags update as you search for things. This prevents some fruitless searches. Would be nice to have.
Display tags as tagpills
The tag list as it stands isn't too useful. Once the tags get updated on query it would be nice to display them as tagpills, like Splice does.
Search autocomplete
There's also an autocomplete feature, seems to be quite simple.
Packs tab
Splice also allows searching for packs, that's a nice way to find a bunch of cohesive samples.
I can see this being a second tab with a grid view, like on Splice.
