Average/median star rating of album

When rating songs in the album, it will get the median rating/energy of every song.
(And a personal rating of the album)

Why do you want the ability to tag/rate an album? And to see median ratings for album tracks?
This will give me an idea of how to implement this. The more details the better ^!

Not the OP but I would use this too (three!). I personally would want to rate albums in, well, a comparative way (the same way you rate anything, I suppose); it's just not for mixing or playlist making. I could see it being useful as I listen to a new artist and definitely for when I just really want to listen to a favorite band but don't necessarily want everything in their discography, maybe just my couple favorites. It'd be cool looking and useful in the app, especially on the album view. I could also see myself tagging with things like "no skips" (this is like the grammy of my album descriptions. my favorite albums all have this in common. and several of them don't make the cut either.)

Plus I'm not a music reviewer, or anything, but if you were or wanted to break into that, it'd be really great to have an easily filterable system so you could post to Substack or Medium or whatever like "Top 10 Albums of 2025" or "WTF Is Bubblegrunge? Albums To Start With" or "5 Appalachian Black Metal Releases Not To Miss" (....apparently I can do clickbait at midnight.)

JFC I'm rambly when I'm sleepy. Anyway -- I would love to see this implemented, but when filtering, I'd want albums to compare to albums and tracks to compare to tracks, ideally? or at least show up the way albums do generally, where you can see all the tracks that belong to them and choose to add single ones or all at the same time to think, so if what i'm looking for are tracks, i'm not getting them twice.

I see what you're saying. Yes I'd have to make a separate section for album ratings, we'd want to compare albums with albums as you mentioned.
Your substack idea cracked me up but is also interesting... I'll write that down and consider this for the future.
