About ABO-500 dataset

I have a question regarding the ABO-500 dataset.

I understand that ABO-500 is created by extracting and processing some data from the original ABO. However, I have noticed that items with the same product ID (ASIN) can be different.
For example, B07BG69MRW_ATVPDKIKX0DER in ABO-500 refers to a bunk bed, whereas in ABO B07BG69MRW refers to a wine glass. (Refer to listing_7.json in the abo-listings.tar file at https://amazon-berkeley-objects.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html)
Why is this?
(I understand "ATVPDKIKX0DER" is the marketplace ID, and the products themselves should be the same)

Hmm, sorry we don't know what the IDs mean exactly. We downloaded the ABO data and did not change them.

In ABO-500, the object B07BG69MRW_ATVPDKIKX0DER is listed as “a bunk bed with a drawer,” but its weight is shown as 0.227 kg in json. Is this correct?

It might be a small toy of a bunk bed. Maybe the other metadata (such as size) can help determine that. Definitely a tricky case!

When searching for B07BG69MRW, this Amazon product appears, and its listed item weight is 227g and filtered_product_weights.json also says

"B07BG69MRW": 0.226796

while the folder name containing the images is B07BG69MRW_ATVPDKIKX0DER.
It is possible that, when the ABO-500 data was created, there may have been an error in linking the ID with the correct product.

I also noticed a similar issue.
For example, the item with ID “B0723DD7Z6” is annotated as 27.21552 kg, but the corresponding object is a grey rug.
When I performed an image-based search on Amazon, the closest matching products typically weigh around 600 g, which suggests that the ground-truth weight in the dataset may be incorrect.

Additional note:
I found the same item in listing_b.json (from the official ABO metadata), and it is labeled as 60 pounds. This indicates that the incorrect weight most likely originates from the original ABO metadata.

It appears that two separate issues are contributing to the incorrect annotations:

1. The ABO dataset itself contains mislabeled or erroneous metadata, which leads to unrealistic mass values (e.g., a polypropylene rug labeled as 27 kg / 60 lbs).

2. As mentioned by @hisasnow above, the ABO-500 subset was not correctly aligned with the main ABO dataset during creation. As a result, some items have correct IDs and mass labels but are paired with the wrong images, further compounding the problem.
