Sidebar menu does not appear consistently on every page

The sidebar is not on the ABOUT page

but then it appears on the next page, REFERENCE

We probably want it to appear on every page ?

@yiwen-h the presence/absence of the sidebars is configurable. For now, I've hidden them on some pages to give more space for large tables e.g. assumptions register, otherwise there are shown by default.

#20 removes the functional area table from About landing page, which was only there as a proof of concept for the read_csv macro.

More generally, there are lots of options around site navigation (I'm resisting the temptation to play!). Maybe something for @Nat-Stephenson to look at from users' perspective https://zensical.org/docs/setup/navigation/

I understand - not having a nav bar of some sort on every page makes it challenging to navigate the documentation as a user though. Also the lack of consistency is confusing, as it appears and disappears from page to page. Maybe we could move the nav bar to the top, or have it as a hamburger menu if screen real estate is an issue

I agree with YiWen, when we have spoken to users previously, there has been a want for a constant nav bar due to many feeling it is a way to 'check where they are' in the document/site. I am currently drafting the feedback plan/activities, and happy to add questions in around this to double check assumptions.
