You can use this feature by right-clicking on a desired clip in a track or in the browser and selecting stem separation in the pop-up menu. The Others stem captures everything in the selected audio clip that does not fit into the Bass, Drums, or Vocals categories. The stems will be nested under a new group track which has all the effects which were present on the original track.

Stem Separation in the newest addtion of Live suite you can select between two modes of separating stems depending on your requirements. The High speed mode separates the audio in a single pass, making the process faster. The High Quality mode separates the audio in multiple individual passes for each stem type. The High Quality mode improves separation accuracy with a higher Signal-to-Distorsion, at the cost of speed.

The separation processing time heavily depends on your system's configuration. On older Windows computers, Intel Macs and Mac computers running macOS 11 Big Sur processing times might take a longer time. Due to compatability issues, stem separation will also run slowly on Apple Silicon computers with macOS 26.1 Tahoe. See the following article for more information on macOS compatibility with Live.
