I've noticed that every single time the game has crashed, it's been after the game tried to load an enemy encounter. It never usually gets into the fights, it hangs there just before trying to enter the fight, but I see no other thing it could be trying to load upon the crash occuring. I feel like this is the cause of a large majority of reported crashes, and would improve performance significantly if this was fixed somehow. I don't know much about the whole coding aspect of this, but I do believe part of this could be due to the fact the entire game is loaded into ram at once.
