being able to sort tags in alphabetical order

What be nice to have some ability to select a sort option for tags

managed to count total number of tags so far = 282. Is there any way to sort in alphabetical order as I sometimes double up which is a pain and time consuming. your help would be appreciated.

It might also be a good idea to add validation to prevent duplicate tags.

thats perceptive and brilliant thank you, Also being proactive, I have looked at the largest discription and have counted Char(40), can you set to Char(50) if possible.

excellent, look forward to the new feature to sort tags. Will make a huge difference to users using tags.

I thought of something else that might be useful. Add two tags All and Untagged, which are by default and cannot be deleted. At the moment, if you want to see all the items, you have to click in the Tree to remove the tag filtering, and if there is All, it will show them all, both with tags and without tags. If you want to see which items do not have a tag, you will click on Untagged. These two tags should be at the top of the list and cannot be moved for convenience.

the email I received from you suggests that you have a fix for sorting tags which is wonderful news, and all I need to do is download lastest build from ...github.com/OpenNumismat/open-numismat/releases/tag/latest. So I dont sound dumb and silly what file do I download and how do I apply?

You mixed up the dialog threads. The slow opening of the editing dialog has been fixed, not tag sorting. Use OpenNumismat-1.10.6.299-nuitka.exe for testing.
