We are now using kobo toolbox ... see @daakiv's repository.

Here are some first comments:

After a continued review yesterday I have some very specific changes in mind. Some of these are changes to the actual kobo form, and some are changes to how values are entered in the form.  The comments below reflect a review of the global_pm25_concentration_1998_2016 record on box and the record_136_raw.json on your git repo.

notes in the kobo-json-path and NOTES columns on the fields tab of the box file

type mismatch (form edits)
EPSG should be int (both values )

value mismatch (how values are entered in the form)
there are several changes in values from the box file ... highlights the need for good documentation on the kobo form.
external_id: needed? if so, what is the best expression?
update_frequency: expressed as UNIX time frames, no underscores allowed
resource_type: controlled vocabulary (underscores added on kobo form)??
license: id, text, url (we should modify this to a group with three elements)
rights: controlled vocabulary, not text description
DOI: with resolver or not?
url: full url??
creator: how to express multiple creator oganizations ... is a subunit in a university an affiliation or a second organization?
variablesMeasured: data type controlled vocabulary (i.e. integer, int, int4, etc)

nodata (how values interpreted)
all '--' values should be ignored in json-ld output, but are useful for the ETL code generator (explicit no data value)
