I'm creating this issue to gauge interest in support for more TTS model architectures. I understand from the GOS forums that the GOS team do not want to bundle multiple model files into the app due to making the APK unnecessarily large, which is completely fair. However, potentially the app could be set up to load in models externally. You could support only your in-house model architecture (MatchaTTS Fork), or you could add support for other model architectures as-well.
Models that could potentially be supported include:
- KokoroTTS (Widely popular and fairly new TTS model architecture)
- VITS aka Piper (Fairly old but still popular and competitive TTS model architecture)
- KittenTTS (Very new model architecture similar in scope to MatchaTTS)
