Tactile-X

📖 Project Description

This Project was created in the time of the summer semester of 2025. It was developed by the HTW-Berlin courses Applied Computer Science and Computer Scienece in Cultur and Health, from students of the 3-5th semester.

The goal of the project "Tactile-X" is to develope interactive gloves that enable natural and precise hand interactions within a Virtual Reality (VR) environment. The gloves are designed to bridge the gap between a Unity-based simulation of an operating room and the user’s hands, providing realistic haptic feedback to simulate the sensation of holding and using surgical instruments.

Tactile-X is designed for medical trainees and/or staff to train surgical procedures in an interactive, realistic VR environment. It also appeals to hobby engineers interested in building custom haptic gloves for Unity-based projects. The system is modular and easily extendable, allowing users to add their own sensors or actuators to suit personal needs or experimental use.

  • 18650 batteryholder (for 18650 batteries)

  • DC vibration motor
