Recently, Anirban Maitra got named the director of the NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center. We can announce this on the portal but it would be better to have a news facility for future items.

Sorry....just picking this up. It seems like we need to be capturing news under news and events even if we highlight this for now. Can we create something on the portal where we highlight the latest news and events somewhere (e.g., Anirban's appt, the upcoming meeting, etc)? To me this looks like a one off but it really shouldn't be.

Some kind of news feature. Examine existing .gov sites to see how the handle news items and press releases. Add a "News Item" content type. Display a chronological ordering of news items. Make Collaborative Group and Committee events optionally be news items.
