Possibility of adding species section to subject

Current Implementation and Limitations

Currently we have identifiers such as DOB and sex for subject creation. For the case of preclinical subject data (i.e. animals) It would be good to have the option of adding species to it as well. It would be best to add it as an option the group manager can choose to select.

Add a speciesVisible attribute to the groupSettings in schema
Add within the custom identifier portion of the subject session for a section add species
Add in the group management form a section to allow the subjects species to be added and visible
With the datahub masterdatatables add the column for species if speciesVisible is true for that group

This will ruin the user experience for non-animal users. Why not just do this in a form?

If you want this, what I would suggest is allowing group managers to select a mandatory form to complete when creating a subject.

@david-roper if there is another way of doing this you can think of let's discuss. I don't want species to be directly implemented into ODC. ODC itself needs to be generic.

The change to add species to a subject was completely optional and was only displayed if the group manager chooses it in the groupmanager form. However I do agree it would be best to keep the idea of a subject as generic as possible. I will take a look at alternate solutions in the meantime.
