Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

Denver For All is a civic project built on the belief that everyone deserves a voice in shaping their city. We are committed to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Standards

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful and constructive in all interactions
  • Welcome newcomers and help them get oriented
  • Accept constructive criticism gracefully
  • Focus on what is best for the community and the project's mission
  • Show empathy toward other community members
  • Cite sources and argue in good faith when discussing policy content

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • Sustained disruption of community discussions or project work
  • Other conduct that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional or civic setting

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all project spaces, including the GitHub repository, issue tracker, pull requests, Signal group, social media channels, and any other forums where Denver For All community members interact. It also applies when an individual is officially representing the project in public spaces.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the project maintainers at conduct@denverforall.org. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

Maintainers are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.

Enforcement Actions

Project maintainers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:

  1. Warning — A private written warning with clarity about the violation and expected behavior going forward.
  2. Temporary restriction — Temporary loss of access to community spaces or interaction channels.
  3. Permanent ban — Permanent removal from all project spaces.
