Long Posts Getting Cut Off with No Expand option

Long posts, that would usually have an "expand" button to click to see the full post, are instead usually getting cut off, without any way to see the full post (other than clicking through). Sometimes it's obvious, with a post getting cut off mid image or line, but not always. Occasionally a post will show the expand button properly, but this is rare. Disabling XKit Rewritten entirely seems to fix the issue. As of yet my attempts at disabling features that might be involved (quick reblogs, showing entire tags section) haven't met with success.

Thanks for the report! Trying to reproduce it myself now.

• Almost every one of our features should enable/disable their behavior in real time. If you look at a post with this problem, open the XKit control panel, and then go through each feature you have enabled and toggle it off and back on, does the problem go away? This is a quick way to find the culprit without having to save and restore preferences (unless it's caused by a combination of features, which is certainly not impossible... although, actually, I know of another reason why in this case that might not actually work).
• In https://www.tumblr.com/settings/dashboard, do you have "shorten long posts" enabled or disabled?
• Did it just start within, like, a day? (Tumblr just made images in posts full-width again, and I'm not discounting that having messed something up slightly.)

It might be "Post Block"? That is the most recent thing I turned off, and now I can't find a post doing this to test other features with.

Of course, I turned Post Block back on and I still can't get it to happen again. I'm confused.

Hm, unlikely to be caused by PostBlock, yeah. Next time you find a post with the problem, keep it in view while you toggle settings and see if the post actually changes appearance in real time! That'll provide the smoking gun that it definitely is a certain feature.

If I go to https://www.tumblr.com/search/long%20post?src=typed_query with the "Shorten long posts" setting enabled, I definitely see a bunch of posts with the Tumblr shortening behavior (particularly if I put my browser window in windowed mode and slowly reduce its vertical height, which sets the height at which Tumblr cuts posts off); does that happen for you, and are the expand buttons missing?

Those all have the expand button for me. It seems to have mysteriously stopped happening? Even though I've re-enabled everything.

Gotcha. Well, we definitely have excellent photographic evidence that it happened once, which is indeed mysterious! Update here if you see it happen again.

I've toggled every feature off and it's still cut off

Odd thing: If I click on it to view it in the thing that opens it on top of your dash, when I close that the whole post now shows

Hmmmm. Apparently just refreshing the page fixes it (once I find the post again), and that was part of the "disabling Xkit" process I was doing. This may not be an XKit problem after all.
